MYNE is Europe’s leading managed co-ownership platform for premium holiday homes. We’re here to make owning a dream holiday property smarter, more sustainable, and radically more accessible - without the cost or hassle of doing it alone.

The idea came to life when my Co-Founder Fabian and I looked at my own Swedish holiday home and saw it sitting empty for the majority of the year. It was beautiful, but also expensive to maintain and underused, a reality we realised was true for so many people with second homes. In addition, millions of people dream of owning a holiday home but are locked out by price, complexity or both. So, we started MYNE to solve both problems, turning idle houses into shared and sustainable assets and giving more people the opportunity to enjoy amazing homes across Europe.

How does MYNE’s co-ownership model work and what problem does it solve?

We make it possible for two to eight people to co-own a premium holiday home in one of more than 25 carefully selected European destinations. Each co-owner holds a real equity stake in the property and they have the right to use the home for six weeks to six months each year, depending on their share.

The model solves multiple problems at once. It makes holiday home ownership financially accessible; it significantly increases the utilisation of high-quality homes that would otherwise sit empty; and it removes the stress of managing a second property, especially one located abroad. We handle everything - the search, the legal structure, the furnishing, the maintenance, and even the scheduling of stays, so co-owners just show up and enjoy their time with family and friends.

How has MYNE evolved since launch, what are the biggest changes or milestones so far?

We launched in 2021 with a single vision and a big belief in the co-ownership model. By 2023, we were offering homes in over 20 of Europe’s most in-demand destinations. In 2024, we closed a €40 million Series A, which was the largest European proptech round that year. That funding allowed us to grow our inventory, expand our technology, and significantly scale operations. And now in 2025, we’ve launched in the UK to prospective buyers, which is a major milestone for us. British buyers have faced new restrictions on second-home ownership post-Brexit, and MYNE gives them a fresh and accessible way back into the European property market with all the complexity removed.

What’s unique about your approach to holiday home ownership compared to traditional models?

What we’re offering is real ownership. It’s not a lease, or a right to use, but actual equity in the property. Owners benefit from property value growth and can sell their share at market value when they want to. On top of that, we’ve built a platform around curated matchmaking, smart stay scheduling and easy property management. We pair owners based on their usage needs so the home is used harmoniously and year-round. A family with school-aged kids is matched with a couple who prefer to travel off-season, which works beautifully for both. We also handle everything, from property management to concierge services, so it’s truly a zero-headache experience. Having this co-ownership model means that instead of building more homes that sit empty most of the year, MYNE helps maximise the use of existing properties while investing in energy upgrades to make them more efficient.

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced, and how did you overcome it?

We launched MYNE during a global pandemic. At the time, people told us we were out of our minds and that no one would share a home, let alone a luxury one, with strangers. But we had deep conviction in the model, and more importantly, we stayed focused on the experience - making it seamless, elegant, and trustworthy. That’s what won people over. Today, 25 percent of our owners have bought a second or even third share. That only happens when people believe in the product. So what started as headwinds turned into tailwinds, and we kept building.

How does MYNE address the needs of UK buyers specifically post-Brexit?

Brexit changed the game for British holiday-home buyers. Travel and property regulations became more complex, and in some European countries like Austria, ownership in certain resort areas has been restricted for non-EU citizens entirely. MYNE offers a way back in. We make the process simple, legal, and compliant. We offer full-service support with English-speaking teams, and we guide UK buyers through every step, from understanding local regulations to managing the property long-term. We’ve also seen huge interest in destinations like Mallorca, the French Riviera, Italy, and Portugal, which remain incredibly popular with British buyers. MYNE makes these locations accessible again, without the administrative or financial burden of buying a whole home alone.

What advice would you give other founders or entrepreneurs tackling complex markets like real estate?

Real estate is one of the most regulated and emotionally driven markets out there, so my first piece of advice is this: sweat the regulation. It’s not glamorous, but getting it right is what builds trust, and trust is your fastest growth lever. If you can earn trust early, you accelerate everything else.

Second, make the experience as simple and delightful as possible. Your job as a founder is to hide the complexity behind a clean, intuitive user journey. That’s especially important in a category like ours, where customers are making one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

Then prove the model before you scale it. Start small, get real feedback, and build a version that actually works for the people you serve. Once you have that foundation, you can scale, but only with partners who share your long-term vision and values.

And finally, build a mission that people want to rally behind. At MYNE, we’re not just selling property shares, we are helping people realise a dream in a smarter, more sustainable way and create memories with family and friends. That’s what keeps our team motivated, our customers loyal, and our business growing.
