The evening’s agenda 18:00-18:10: Building a personal brand Phadria Prendergast, editor-in-chief, WOTC Magazine, discusses getting into press and building a personal brand as an entrepreneur. 18:10-18:30: Interview with Rachel Shaw, Subway franchisee Enterprise Nation founder Emma Jones, MBE, interviews Subway franchisee Rachel Shaw, who has over 30 years’ experience in the fast-food industry. Since becoming a Subway franchisee 12 years ago, Rachel has won Franchisee of the Year and Best Local Store, Marketing for several years consistently. Outside of Subway, she spends her time mentoring, consulting and supporting women in business. 18:30-19:15: EntreprenHER- Hour: honest chat with honest women in business Panelists include: Caroline Popoola, Alpha Childcare Caroline Popoola is an entrepreneur and CEO of leading UK childcare provider Alpha Childcare Limited. She’s also a columnist, speaker, and leadership coach. Whitney Bromberg Hawkins, FLOWERBX Whitney Bromberg Hawkings is founder and CEO of FLOWERBX. She graduated from Columbia University in 1998 and started her career in Paris working for Tom Ford and Gucci. In 2016, after working for Tom Ford for 18 years, she resigned from her position as SVP of communications to found FLOWERBX. Sherrille Riley, Nails & Brows Sherrille Riley achieved iconic status as the definitive brow expert after her boutique salon, Nails & Brows Mayfair, quickly became the go-to beauty destination for royalty, a-list celebrities and beauty editors. Deb Dominic, Hairsmiths  Deb has been in hairdressing since 1998, training with Toni & Guy before setting up on her own in 2011 and now has eleven employees. 19:15-19:40: Get your business into the press Panelists include: Kaye Holland and Teresa Machan, founders, Away with Words  Professional journalists and former colleagues at a national newspaper, Kaye and Teresa are travel writing specialists. In the course of their careers and travels they’ve amassed a wealth of experience – not just of the world, but of life. As lockdown progressed, the pair saw the important role being played by their local communities, businesses and social networks. How could they put their skills to use? Kaye heard that WOTC Magazine was awarding a match-funded community cheque of £500 to freelancers facing difficulties due to Covid-19, to help them launch a digital business. Her passion for the written word inspired Kaye to submit a proposal to start a copywriting company – producing the right words (or ‘copy’) to get your message across. To Kaye’s surprise she went on to win the £500 community cheque. She teamed up with Teresa and Away with Words was born. Sam Brown, PR Mastercoach Sam Brown is the PR Mastercoach. Sam has been in the PR business for over two decades, clocking up well over 50,000 hours of experience. She has worked with global brands through to one-man-bands, across fashion and beauty, charities, food and drink, events, social change, and personal brand. Her work has won many awards including Best Product Launch (for Rubicon drinks), Best Youth Campaign (for the UK government anti-knife campaign), and Global Impact (for Selfridges Project Ocean). She now shares her experience by coaching brands, charities and founders to do their own PR to grow their awareness and increase their impact. Goodness Samson, accounts director & Sandra Adu, creative director, Revolt Revolt is a women-run digital agency that brings over 12 years of experience across fashion, beauty, lifestyle & consumer industries. It builds brands that drive sales.
