Companies all over the world witnessed a paradigm shift to remote work as the pandemic fundamentally changed how companies operate globally. There have been many advantages to the overnight transition to remote work such as creation of new job opportunities and virtually connected global teams. However, the lack of crucial aspects such as social cohesion and building shared trust could be potential barriers.
As the pandemic is starting to show signs of slowing down, many companies are adopting a hybrid virtual model which combines remote and on-site work. According to the Future Forum research, 72% of respondents said they never want to go back to the traditional way of working and wanted a hybrid remote-office model going forward. The move to a hybrid style of work will ensure that employees get the best of both worlds — the flexibility to work from anywhere, and the tools to contribute from wherever they are.
