8 years ago this month, Marc Andreessen wrote a lengthy blog post discussing the internet as a platform. The idea that systems can be programmed by outside developers and adapted to countless needs is as true today as it was back then.
As a result, more and more organizations are treating developers as actual users, offering them developer programs that apply many of the marketing principles used for end-user products. But what is truly unprecedented is the rise of Developer Experience, the discipline that explores developers' perception when interacting with technical products. Who knew that one day developers would be subject to user research, personas and usability tests?
